Each year, around the globe, millions of people, businesses, and landmarks set aside an hour to host events, switch off their lights, and make noise for climate change action.

In 2018 Earth Hour saw a record-breaking 188 countries and territories taking a stand to change climate change. More than 17,900 iconic landmarks turned off their lights and more than 250 ambassadors and influencers have joined the movement, including Andy Murray, Jared Leto, Ellie Goulding, The Killers, Amitabh Bachchan, Li Bingbing, Park Seo-joon, Claudia Bahamon, and Roger Milla.

In Brussels, many Members of the European Parliament pledged to take climate action. Many Commissioners supported Earth hour, including Vice-Presidents Frans Timmermans, Maroš Šefčovič, Jyrki Katainen, Valdis Dombrovskis, Commissioners Karmenu Vella and Violeta Bulc.
