Industry Engagement

Whether you catch, buy, process or sell fish, or are simply interested in healthy seas, you should have an interest in well–managed fisheries. This is the founding principle of The Alliance for Common Fisheries Policy Reform.
WWF and the leading European associations for seafood processors (AIPCE-CEP), retailers (Eurocommerce), consumer co-operatives (Euro Coop) joined forces in April 2010 to advocate solutions to the crisis of overfishing in Europe. The European association for chefs (Euro-Toques) joined the ‘Alliance’ one year later.

The Alliance for CFP reform calls for the reform to lay the basis for sustainable fisheries and offer Europeans the sustainably harvested fish they deserve and demand.

A roundtable at the European Seafood Exposition 2011 marked the first anniversary of this unprecedented alliance of industry stakeholders and conservationists.
