Joint statement: Creating a simpler and more focused EU budget
Posted on March, 04 2025
WWF is among 29 organisations proposing a more consistent implementation of the ‘Do No Significant Harm’ (DNHS) principle in the next EU budget, easing the administrative load on both managing authorities and beneficiaries while contributing to the strategic and effective use of EU funds.
The ‘Do No Significant Harm’ principle is a key tool in the implementation of the EU budget, driving the phase-out of environmentally harmful subsidies and creating the needed fiscal space for crucial climate and nature-positive investments.
WWF urges the European Commission to come forward with an ambitious proposal on the DNSH principle in the context of the next MFF.
